Languages around the World
We use Power Language to teach French and Spanish during our enrichment afternoons
We promote translanguaging, making comparisons between the languages or learning Makaton or English or Welsh alongside the French or Spanish.
We also have learners in our school who speak Polish, Bulgarian or Slovakian at home. We celebrate their languages whenever possible and we will often hear our Polish and Slovakian learners comparing how similar their languages are.
